Adam McDuff 4.0 out of 5 stars If you are planning to sit for your CTS I would recommend this book. Read the book through and take notes. After you have read the book all the way through, study your notes. Then, try to answer the review questions at the end of each chapter. Re-read sections relative to any of these that you missed (take notes here as well) until you comprehend the answer. In most cases it will not help just to memorize answers to the review questions or the practice test questions. You have to understand the concept behind the answer. Next, take the practice test that is on the CD that comes with the book. Follow the same instructions for this also (re-read and take notes as needed). Next, take the Infocomm online practice test and do the same with those questions. Last review all your notes and go take the test. It helped me to re-write my notes in another notebook and put them in my own words while I reviewed them. Information that's related is often not presented side by side making it difficult to keep track of what the book is trying to teach. This book is useful to learn what it is you need to learn about. I spend a good amount of my time with this book looking up clarifications on concepts online where they're often explained much better. It's a good supplement to in-field experience, but overall this book is a chore to decipher sometimes. The author randomly italicizes words of interest.usually this denotes a vocab word and indicates that it can be found in the glossary in the back. In general, confusing or unusual terminology are used instead of simply, colloquial explanations.
I would cautiously recommend this to others simply because of the lack of other comprehensive resources available, but be prepared to do a lot of independent research to understand some of the concepts in this book.The practice questions in the back of each of the chapters.
